Support the fight against cancer in northern Indiana and southwestern Michigan
You don’t need to be a nationally recognized oncologist to make a difference in the fight against cancer. There are many non-profit organizations in this region that depend on volunteers to provide vital services such as counseling, financial assistance, wigs and prosthetics, educational programs, free mammograms and more. These organizations are always looking for someone like you who wants to help make the fight against cancer a little easier for patients and their loved ones.
Volunteer at the Advanced Centers for Cancer Care
The fight against cancer can be emotionally and spiritually draining. It’s not unusual for patients to spend six to eight hours in a given treatment session. Michiana Hematology Oncology is always looking for kind, enthusiastic people to help make these long treatment sessions a more pleasant experience. Your gift of time and compassion can help to brighten the spirits of patients in your community – and that is a priceless contribution to the fight against cancer. As a volunteer, you’re welcome to:
- donate reading material
- serve coffee and refreshments
- provide wheelchair assistance
- offer a listening ear
- call bingo numbers
- teach an art or craft
- help out in your own creative way
